Last year after the SA2 exams, there was the inter class sports. There were 2 sports, namely soccer and floorball. I played soccer for my class as i did not think i was that good at floorball. I played as the defender, mainly because of my big size and also the fact that i was not that good at dribbling the ball. The ball used for the soccer inter class was very heavy, in a way that you cannot kick it high. Even if you kick the ball with all your strength, the ball will just roll on the ground. I think that should be an area for improvement, as it was really hard to play with that ball.
We played the first two games and we lost both of them. I was scared that our team's morale was lowered. This did not seem to be the case when we won the next match. At this point, our team was thrilled and enthusiastic for the next match. We won the next match, the match after that, and we were on a winning streak. The last game was against 1H. We had no desire to lose this match. The score was 2-1 and we were winning. The whistle blew but the match carried on as the official who was in charge did not notice the whistle. They scored a goal, but it was not counted as the officials decided that the match had already ended. This led to a quarrel between our class and 1H. The match was important as the winner would have been in second place. Luckily, they decided not to quarrel unnecessarily and they took the third place.
Although there was a lot of name calling during the quarrel, I still think that they showed sportsmanship as they did not give up when they were a goal down. However, I think they should have been less furious. If I were in their position, I would have just accepted third place as at least we still get a trophy. I hope this would not happen again if there is an inter class games this year.

Something I Enjoy
Usually when i am bored after finishing my homework, i will turn on my computer and play Starcraft II Wings Of Liberty. It is a strategy game where you have to gather resources, make buildings, train units and attack your opponent. The game has three different races to choose from. They are Terran, Zerg and Protoss.
The Terrans are like us humans, but they have higher technology as the game is set during the 26th century.Compared to the Protoss and Zerg, the Terrans are endure frequent wars amongst themselves in addition to the more recent conflicts with their alien neighbors. The leader of the Terrans is Jim Raynor, who you will play as in the campaign.
The Zerg is a biological race, which uses larvae to morph units. The Zerg as a whole are extremely tough, tenacious, and deadly. Their leader is Sarah Kerrigan, who is Jim Raynor's ex-girlfriend, who was kidnapped and infested by the Zerg, and turned into the Queen of Blades.
Lastly, there is the Protoss, which is my preferred race to play as. They are technologically advanced race that come from the planet Aiur. They are loyal towards their planet and would sacrifice themselves for Aiur. What makes them different is the fact that they do not have mouths, noses or visible ears and they lack a sense of taste. They communicate telepathically with each other. The Protoss have different leaders. For example, the leader of the Dark Templar ( which is a unit ) is Zeratul and the leader of the High Templar is Tassadar.
You can either play the campaign of this game or play online with your friends or other people. I believe that Starcraft is a phenomenal game because of its storyline, gameplay and even the music. Although it took 10 years to make, i think the people who had to wait for that long would think that it was well worth the wait. There are alot of Starcraft commentators, who cast games between professional players and upload the videos to Youtube. I too watch the videos to get a better understanding on the different strategies of the different races. I spend most of my free time playing this game as i enjoy it alot.
I would certainly recommend this game to all of you, if your parents are willing to spend about $100 for you. It has good graphics, the gameplay is perfect and the soundtrack is addictive. If your parents are proud of you and would buy for you something, i would definitely recommend you to ask them to buy this game.
Here is a video on one of my favourite casters. Enjoy :).

Home Econs
Today, in school for Home Economics lesson, the class had to make Queen cupcakes. The ingredients were eggs, butter, sugar, raisins, vanilla essence and flour. The lesson was enjoyable as we had to mix everything together with a mixer, which we had not used before.
We began with mixing the butter and sugar together. Then, we slowly added the egg, mixed together with the vanilla essence, tablespoon by tablespoon and we mixed it with the mixture of butter and sugar. After doing so, we added the flour, tablespoon by tablespoon as well. This time, we did not use the mixer. Instead, we used the spoon to mix all the ingredients together. Finally, we added the raisins.
After showing our teacher our work so far, we put the mixture into different cups. This was the difficult part as my partner and I loved raisins, so we had to try our very best to split the raisins evenly between the two of us. After spending so much time ensuring that the raisins were evenly split, we placed the cup full of the mixture onto a tray and into the oven. We then waited for about twenty minutes for the cupcakes to finish baking. After twenty minutes, we packed the cupcakes into our containers and began to wash up.
The cupcakes were really delicious and i enjoyed today's Home Economics lesson, other than the fact that almost the whole class had to stay back for twenty minutes as our teacher was very particular about the cleanliness of our equipment. Even if there was a droplet of water on the spoon, she would have reprimanded us about it and would have asked us to clean it again. Other than that, i think it was an enjoyable Home Economics lesson.

The Trip
During the school holidays in December, my family and i went for a holiday in Indonesia. This was a special time as it was the only time of the year, other than the June holidays, that we can go to a foreign country and spend some quality time together. And I must say, it was one of the best holidays ever!
The flight was about an hour and a half long. When we arrived in Jakarta, there was a man to pick us up as we signed up for the tour package where we went by ourselves, not in a group, but we had to pay more. We had to go to Bandung first. The journey there took about 6 hours by car. When we reached our destination, we went for dinner.
The food prepared was Sweet and Sour Fish, Kangkong and Chicken Soup. The way the food was prepared is different from the food here in Singapore. The food there was tastier as the taste was stronger. After our dinner, we checked into our hotel and got a good night's rest.
The next day, we went shopping at different factory outlets near the vicinity of our hotel. We bought a lot of clothes as the things there were very cheap! After almost the whole day of shopping, we returned back to our hotel for dinner.
After waking up, my parents and I packed our bags as we had to go to another part of Indonesia, Jakarta, where we arrived at first. The hotel we stayed in was a 5 star hotel. The hotel was really big and the security was tight. They had metal detectors and even a dog to sniff out explosives! This was to ensure that the hotel was safe and secure for the guests. We went to Dunia Fantasi , which translates as Fantasy World. This was the 'Disneyland' of Indonesia. We only had enough time for one ride of the roller coaster as it was raining heavily. We then went to a few of the indoor shows, like the dolphin show, sea lion show and a 4D movie. After a whole day at Dunia Fantasi, we then went back to our hotel. We went back home to Singapore the next day. It was certainly one of my favourite holidays and it was a special moment my family and I shared.

This year, for Secondary Two, there is a new thing called OPW. It is a group work assignment that we have to do. It is basically about ways to improve the different school facilities. We were to brainstorm and come up with as many ideas as we can, and choose the most appropriate one. The field was assigned to my group as we drew lots. This is only one of the few changes as I enter the new world of Secondary Two.
I remember when i was still in Secondary One, when i was scared of the Secondary Two that year. But now when i am in Secondary Two, I seem to be intimidated by the Secondary Ones instead! I think it is because of my shy character, the fact that I don't talk much to my seniors, that makes me scared of them. And maybe it is because of my caring personality that I don't like to bully the Secondary Ones. Some of them are small and cute but some are also huge. I usually feel uncomfortable when I see someone younger than me but taller than me, although it is quite rare. I will feel like a mouse next to a whale when I am near them. Now i know how my friends feel when they are next to me!
In addition to that, I also seem to be playing my computer games a lot lesser than last year. This could be because of the piles of homework given by relentless teachers that treat us like robots. I usually end up sleeping a lot later that usual because of the homework. This then effects my attentiveness in class the next day.
In all, I think Secondary Two is not a time to slack and sit on my own hands. I should study hard this year, and not let my results suffer like last year. I promise myself to do better!
