The Trip

During the school holidays in December, my family and i went for a holiday in Indonesia. This was a special time as it was the only time of the year, other than the June holidays, that we can go to a foreign country and spend some quality time together. And I must say, it was one of the best holidays ever!

The flight was about an hour and a half long. When we arrived in Jakarta, there was a man to pick us up as we signed up for the tour package where we went by ourselves, not in a group, but we had to pay more. We had to go to Bandung first. The journey there took about 6 hours by car. When we reached our destination, we went for dinner.

The food prepared was Sweet and Sour Fish, Kangkong and Chicken Soup. The way the food was prepared is different from the food here in Singapore. The food there was tastier as the taste was stronger. After our dinner, we checked into our hotel and got a good night's rest.

The next day, we went shopping at different factory outlets near the vicinity of our hotel. We bought a lot of clothes as the things there were very cheap! After almost the whole day of shopping, we returned back to our hotel for dinner.

After waking up, my parents and I packed our bags as we had to go to another part of Indonesia, Jakarta, where we arrived at first. The hotel we stayed in was a 5 star hotel. The hotel was really big and the security was tight. They had metal detectors and even a dog to sniff out explosives! This was to ensure that the hotel was safe and secure for the guests. We went to Dunia Fantasi , which translates as Fantasy World. This was the 'Disneyland' of Indonesia. We only had enough time for one ride of the roller coaster as it was raining heavily. We then went to a few of the indoor shows, like the dolphin show, sea lion show and a 4D movie. After a whole day at Dunia Fantasi, we then went back to our hotel. We went back home to Singapore the next day. It was certainly one of my favourite holidays and it was a special moment my family and I shared.
